Do you accept insurance? How does insurance work?
I currently accept only a small number of insurance plans. If we do not accept your insurance carrier, at your request my office will provide you with a receipt including diagnosis and date of service with my signature, which you would then send on to your carrier for direct reimbursement to you. Most plans will cover a percentage of the costs involved. Please note: Insurance does not cover forensic evaluations or psychological testing. If we do accept your insurance carrier, we will contact them once we have spoken with you and have your identifying information. We will then file the claim for reimbursement. However, you should be aware that working with insurance companies can be challenging for a number of reasons and as a result, if we accept your carrier and you are planning on using the coverage, we recommend that you contact them and ask the following questions:
- What are my behavioral health benefits?
- Are my sessions confidential or can your company find out what is discussed or see my psychologists records?
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- Is psychological testing covered?
Telehealth virtual treatment session: Telehealth sessions include the use of phones, computers or
tablets to connect remotely from the comfort of your home or office. I use a HIPPA-compliant video
platform that allows us to see and interact with each other for our session.
Sessions are either 30 or 50 minutes in length and priced accordingly.
Forensic Evaluation charges are based on the time involved to complete the interview, testing where applicable, and final report.
If an appointment time has been reserved for you and you have not notified us to either change or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
