Parental Fitness Psychological Evaluation

Family Court systems and attorneys sometimes request a parental fitness psychological evaluation when emotional or physical child abuse or neglect is suspected. Child abuse is defined as any recent act or failure on the part of a parent which results in emotional or physical harm to the child including suspicions of child sexual abuse. These evaluations conducted at my office are comprehensive and assess for major psychiatric disorders including personality pathology, anger control difficulties, substance abuse, erratic behavior and harsh parenting patterns. Clinical interview, psychological testing, document review and collateral information will be combined to produce an evaluative report that will be submitted to the referral source including family court, attorney or child protective services agency.
